Steel belts service categories

Classification and general description of all jobs offered by Berndorf Band and VFE Service dapartment.

1. Unpacking and Mounting this job includes the unpacking of open and endless belts of transport crate as well as the installation of these belts into the customers machine (conveyor, press, oven, etc .....)
2.Cutting the belt this is the cutting of an endless belt at any point (preverably at the existing endless joint) considering that the belt will be welded or rivetted to endless condition later.
3.Tracking the belt the tracking procedure happens after the installation into the customers machine. Herewith all the parts which influence the tracking of the belt (i.e. pulleys, rollers, drums, sheaves,...) are to be adjusted so that the belt runs in a stable condition.
4.Measuring the belt . Herewith we can check every non-distructionable critiria of your choice.
5.Flipping the belt this job is applied to remove not normal cross curvature of belts. the belt has to be cut, dismounted and reinstalled with changes in-and outside.
6.Flattening of dents. When dents are to be flattened, we try to work the plastic deformation as long as optimum flatness condition is achieved again.
7.Dismounting with dismounting we understand the destallation out of the customers machine, considering a future reinstallation.
8.Levelling with levelling we understand the treatment of a belt with the 3-roll levelling device. With this mainly the ceoss curvature is influenced.
9.Endleed - Riveting The rivetting joint of a belt is used seldom in this modern times because the welding system showa more advantages. But this system is used by engaged customers they want to make some works by themselves.
10. Endless - Welding is the most frequent endless joint. This procedure happens in the customers machine.
11. Repolishing of areas. Stains in polished belts (caused by aggressive medium or rests of product) can be eliminated repolishing.
12. inserting of patches. many damages can by repaired by inserting of patches (preverably with round shape) only becuase of hard deformation or cracks.
13. Working the belt edges. If there are damages on one or both belt edges it is possible to work these edges to avoid future cracks of he belt as well as the risk of human injuries by cutting with shatp edges.
14. Flattening of folds. To improve the flatness in folded areas a flattening can be executed.
15. Repolishing of scratches. Scratches in polishes belts can be removed bei superfinishing and repolishing.
16.Regrinding of scratches. Scratches are reasons for future cracks. We recommend to eliminate scratches by local regrinding.
17.Welding of holes. Cracks areas with missing material (i.e. holes) can be repaired by welding only at little sizes(By using filler wire). The beter methode will by the inserting of a patch.
18. New belt installation. The installation of new belt is one of the biggest goals of our program. Herewith we understand the mounting and the endless connection of open belts.
19. Renewing of the cross weld. It is possible to renew the cross weld (caused by fatigue of overstress) only with considering the possible tensioning allowance of the customers machine. The old cross weld will be cut out (with appr. 50- 100 mm waste material) and subsequently rewelded.
20.Flattening the cross weld. If the weld is stressed with more than the maximun allowed tension (mainly by bending the belt on small diameter pulleys) flatness deviations in the cross welding areas wil happen. This can be normally repaired by flattening.
21.Insert of egge strips. if the belt edge is damaged so hard that many cracks and hard deformation appier we recommend to cut out the damaged edge area and insert an edge strip.
22. Weldign of cracks. A repair method for cracks is the welding of the non deformed crack line.
23. Trimming. With trimming we understand the removal of strip on the belt edge over the whole belt length. This is necessary when extreme damages on the belt edge occurs considering the smaller width of the belt after trimming.
24.Training. We offergeneral as well as special trainings(perfectly fit to the customers demands) in working with Berndorf belts.
25. Repairing Vee-ropes. If the Vee-rope come off due to foreign forcess of chemical attack we can replace secions of these Vee-ropes.
26.Shot peening. With this method we are able to correct curvature of belts (mainly on wood press belts0. This system can b y applied duting the customers production so no costs for production loss occur.
27.Inserting a belt section. The inserting of a section (with full belt width) is recommended at large sized damages of when the remaining tensioning allowance of machine is not big enough to cut out the damage and fabricate an additional cross weld.
28. Shrinking of overstressed areas. With this methode we are able to repair single overstressed areas of the belt by thermal treatment.
29. Addittional cross weld. It is necessary to make an additional cross weld when a damage has to be cut out over the whole belt width. the belt will be made endless again by an additional cross weld.
